Technical Solutions and Delivery Director (BA Leadership)

The Technical Solutions & Delivery Director is responsible for leading the technical solution analysis and delivery practices at our mid-sized financial services client. This hands-on role is supervising a team of Analysts who are responsible for analyzing, designing, and proposing technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency in support of the client's business objectives. 

This position is tasked to maintain an enterprise-wide perspective in providing oversight and support in the delivery of enhancement and projects through analysis and documentation of functional and technical requirements.  In addition, the role is responsible for contributing broad experience and high-level of expertise in application lifecycle development techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Effective performance of the essential functions of this position requires regular in-person, on-site interaction with colleagues, both for purposes of relationship building and meaningful collaboration
  • Responsible for working with the business leadership and assigned Analysts to help define and implement an effective support strategy for the various enterprise groups and their corresponding applications. 
  • Actively manages and participates in analysis, requirements definition and solution design activities; maintains an understanding of a broad range of business processes and related systems; collaborates with business stakeholders to define and document functional and technical requirements, and with technical staff to develop solution alternatives. 
  • Participates in the Project Management process; provides coaching for client's hybrid approach, combining Agile and Waterfall methodologies; contributes to project deliverables including vision documents, status reports, and project plans; communicates status, business impacts and changes to team members, business partners, sponsors, and other stakeholders. 
  • Supports testing activities as part of production support, enhancements, and projects; reviews and provides input to testing strategies and plans; reviews and provides advice for testing-related estimates; contributes to the overall management of projects; participates in complex testing efforts. 
  • Provides general customer and IT support for assigned business applications; assisting the Senior Analysts in performing effective root-cause analysis and resolution; coordinating implementationsupport activities; ensuring proper communication, documentation, delivery, and follow-up. 
  • Acts as primary liaison between Technology and Business stakeholders on assigned projects, ensuring successful application implementation including software selection, planning, data conversion, application configuration, process workflow analysis, enhancements, quality assurance, user documentation, training, and ongoing production support. 
 
Qualifications
 
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects
  • Extensive analytical and organizational skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Broad knowledge of most technical, functional, and business processes
  • Thorough understanding of full life cycle development for conversion, software implementation, andon-going production support efforts 
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) skills to provide updates to project stakeholders and team members, senior management, external vendors, and the technology department
  • Proven Vendor Management Experience 
  • Ability to define and implement application support models
  • Ability to understand complex application data models and functional process flows 
  • Provide back-up support for the Analysts
  • Thorough understanding of enterprise data security and privacy guidelines and Secure SDLC framework 
  • Proven ability to create and manage a cost center budget
  • Successful track record of managing a team of senior technical analysts 

 Education / Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related fields.
  • Experience in the utilization of a structured project management methodology and 10+ years supervising staff in a project management or business analysis role 
  • 8+ years’ experience in business/technical analysis or process re-engineering with experience leading analysis on complex business/technical initiatives.
  • Experience in Waterfall and Agile methodology required
  • ITIL and Scrum certification strongly preferred

  • Must have a thorough understanding of MS Office Products, ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence, Monday.com, Domo
