Business Systems Analyst

SUMMARY:

The Senior Business Analyst is crucial in enhancing our client's operational efficiency by applying their deep expertise in business process transformation, data analysis, and business intelligence.

This role involves close collaboration with operations teams, product owners, technical teams, and leadership to develop comprehensive business requirements and capture complex process flows. The analyst’s role is to ensure that our initiatives are supported by a solid understanding of business operations and intelligence, aligning with overall business needs and value.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Requirements Gathering: Develop detailed business requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives. Assist IT teams by documenting functional requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications, and conveying technical details to business stakeholders.
Business Process Partnership: Collaborate with business SMEs to thoroughly analyze, understand, and document business processes. Promote continuous improvement and ensure thorough documentation of procedures and policies.
Data Analytics & Business Intelligence: Extract, interpret, and analyze data to provide actionable insights. Design and implement BI reports and dashboards to ensure data accuracy and relevance.
KPI Development: Work with stakeholders to identify, define, and monitor key performance indicators, offering insights based on observed trends.
Management Reporting: Create and maintain management reports and dashboards to visualize KPIs and other critical metrics.
Cultivation of Business Knowledge: Foster a culture of shared business knowledge, mentor peers, and recommend resources and training to enhance team expertise.
Team Collaboration: Promote standardization and process improvement, ensuring a unified approach to business and data operations. Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders and leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Analytical Leadership & Insights: Proven ability to guide teams with data insights and business intelligence, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Data-Driven Strategy: Experience in using data analytics and business intelligence to inform and shape operational strategies.
Industry Insight: In-depth knowledge of industry trends, data analytics, business intelligence, and process transformation.
Communication Excellence: Skilled in conveying complex business concepts clearly to diverse audiences, fostering collaboration, and interacting with various levels of leadership.
Autonomy and Initiative: Ability to deliver results independently while knowing when to seek guidance for complex issues.
Relationship Cultivation: Proficient in building and maintaining productive professional relationships.
Organizational Skills: Strong planning, time management, and prioritization abilities.
Adaptability: Agile in managing multiple tasks with competing priorities and adapting to changes quickly.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields. Relevant combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
Experience: 5-7+ years as a Business/Solutions Analyst, with a solid background in data analytics, business intelligence, process transformation, and systems implementation.
Background: Demonstrated ability to connect business requirements with technical solutions, experience in mentorship, stakeholder management, and project delivery.
Skills: Proficient in data visualization tools (e.g., Domo, Tableau, Power BI) and data analytics platforms (e.g., SQL, Python, R). Knowledgeable in business modeling, KPI tracking, and process documentation.
Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex details effectively.
Learning & Collaboration: Commitment to continuous learning and fostering a collaborative team culture.
Certifications: Business Analysis certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) are advantageous. Experience in benefits administration is also favorable.
